Can we use a single CIP device?
- The number of CIP devices required depends on the diameter of the vessel, nozzle locations, nozzle sizes, nozzle types, other internal coverage areas, free board space, and other design factors.
- Bioprocessing Equipment has minimum flow recommendations based on the diameter of the vessel, but additional factors as listed above also need to be considered before completely specifying a CIP solution.
- For vessels that require CIP coverage in compliance with BPE, the verification test is the final acceptance criteria.
- Assuming 100% coverage is required and without knowing every design aspect a single CIP device may be possible for simple designs with no internals up to 60" in diameter. If there are minimal top head nozzles the diameter limit may be larger.
